Form 6 Children Write Creative Essays for ISA Competition

30th March 22

Creative Essay Competition

At the end of the Spring Term, The Gower School Form 6 children participated in an exciting creative essay-writing competition! The instructions were simple. Children were to write an original essay of 500 words or more using their very best language and imagination and enter it for judging. They were set the following creative prompt:

A knight in full armour approached the dark forest but didn’t expect such an adventure to unfold!

The children spent the week brainstorming ideas, writing drafts, and polishing their final entries. Each essay was filled with marvellous twists and turns, and it was almost impossible for our internal judges Miss Kiernan and Miss Falloon to choose the winners.

During Friday morning assembly Miss Fieldsend announced the two winning and one highly commended essay. Congratulations to winners Amika Trivedi and Eliza Horgan for their winning essays, and well done to Daniyal Gilkar for his highly commended entry. Very well done to the entire Form 6 class for putting forth such masterful and entertaining entries. The two winning essays have now been entered into the national Independent Schools Association Essay Competition, and we wish them the best of luck!
