A Day with Author and Poet Neal Zetter

On Thursday, our Primary school was abuzz with excitement as we welcomed the brilliant author and poet Neal Zetter. The children were thrilled by his lively and engaging workshops, which were filled with humour and creativity.

Mr Zetter began his visit with a reading for our Reception year group, where the children were captivated by his hilarious poems. He then worked with our Forms 1 and 2 pupils to create animal-themed poems, where he encouraged them to use descriptive language. Our older pupils also had a great time listening to Mr Zetter’s funny poems and creating alliterative alphabets. In the afternoon, the fun continued with a book signing event in our school courtyard. This gave the children a special opportunity to meet Mr Zetter in person and have their copies of his books signed.

Neal Zetter has been inspiring young readers for many years with his delightful stories, clever wordplay, and memorable poetry. He was a regular visitor to our school before the pandemic, and it was wonderful to have him back after six years. We are incredibly grateful to Mr Zetter for spending such an inspiring day with us.
