In the Spring term our school submitted three stories to the ISA Young Storytellers Competition, a collaborative contest for our Reception and Lower School classes, where children wrote a short story inspired by the title ‘the Time Machine’. The children spent several writing sessions brainstorming, planning and writing their zany and fantastical stories through space and time, before being submitted to the national ISA competition.
We are proud to announce that the story written by nine Reception children was selected as a winner in the Young Storyteller’s Competition in the Early Years Foundations Stage category. The judges deemed the children’s entry to contain the ‘most original cast of characters’, and awarded them a special certificate to recognise their creative work. Even more exciting, the children’s story will now be included in an official anthology book, which will be both illustrated and professionally published! What an incredible achievement for our school’s youngest writers.
